Research Experiences

·                    Five years research experience (2005-2010) on molecular genetics, biotechnology, proteomics and functional analysis of mutant genes at School of Biotechnology, Yeungnam University, Korea. Basic research on rice molecular genetics, proteomics and characterization of mutant genes. During this study, I have learned basic molecular technology like DNA, RNA, protein isolation, gene cloning and manipulation, PCR, Northern and Southern blot analysis, proteomic analysis, cDNA library, anatomical study and map based gene cloning. Agrobacteria mediated gene transformation in rice using RNAi and over expression methods. Observation of insert and selection marker (ppt, busta) on molecular and phenotypic level at T4 generation. Maintenance of transgenic rice, assist in lab research to undergraduate and graduate students. Field Experience: Experience of growing rice, Tobacco and Arabidopsis in research field as well as Green House. Cross fertilization, data collection of various phenotypes of mutant rice and maintenance.

·                    One year research work (2004) as M. Phil fellow on plant biotechnology. Title: In vitro micro propagation of woody legume and plantains. At Biotechnology laboratory, Institute of Biological Sciences, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh under the supervision of Dr. M.A Bari Miah, Professor in the same Institute.

·                    One year project work (2001) in tissue culture laboratory of Genetics and Breeding department. Title, “In vitro seed germination and root induction of Helianthus annuus at different pH level.”

Research interest

Identification and characterization of novel gene and further utilization in Plant Genetics and Molecular Breeding to produces high-quality crops by             developing agricultural production systems. Through this research, I could apply the biotechnologies to the agriculture to promote plant production             to meet up the world food crisis. As my country is agriculture based, so that after successful completion of my research, I might play active roles in            the development of my own country as well as the world.
