Prof. Dr. A. Z. M. Shoeb was born in 1965 at the village of Agorpur Mia-Bari, Barisal, Bangladesh. He joined the University of Rajshahi in 1990 as a Lecturer. Later he was promoted to Assistant and Associate Professor, and finally Professor in 2012. His fields of research interest are disaster management, flood vulnerability, and international labour migration. He published a number of articles home and abroad. He also taught at the University of Cologne, Germany from April 2010 to March 2011 and the University of Bamberg, Germany for the Summer Semester in 2005. He participated in a wide range of conferences in Germany and Bangladesh which were mostly international. He is supposed to work in this position until 2030 if he lives at all and physically fit. He desires the blessing of the Almighty ALLAH PAK in this world (dunia) and the next world (Akhe-rat).
