ISLM 123: Fundamentals of Computer Applications

This course aims to learn the students about the basic concepts of ICT and use of ICT in operational functions of library and information centers. They will gain conceptual insight of ICT tools and apply those tools for catering digital resource.

This course provides the learners with basic understanding on library cooperation, resource sharing, networking and building strategic partnership in order to maximize their benefits by successfully dealing with the challenges of the 21st century.

After completing the course students will learn the ways of creating MARC record in an integrated library system like KOHA. They will learn patron management system, manage circulation, acquisition, serials control, OPAC, etc. of a library.
